The Sidekicks were formed in 1997 in Coronado (San Diego), CA. The band consists of Steve Williams (drums/percussion), Matt Hughes (guitar/vocals), Phil Higgins (guitar/vocals), Seth Imming (bass/vocals), and depending on the occasion will add female vocalist Maria Amuchastegui. When performing live the band not only plays their own material, but they also cover songs by the most popular groups from the 50s to stuff that's currently on the radio. Covering everything from the Beatles and Buddy Holly, Commodores and Ohio Players, Prince and Michael Jackson, to the currents by White Stripes, Incubus, Radiohead, and Dave Matthews, this band appeals to all audiences.
The Sidekicks can be seen on a regular basis at some of southern California's hottest venues like the ZEN Café at On Broadway, Red Circle, and the "VAULT" at On Broadway.
Aside from playing at the top venues in town the band keeps a busy schedule recording, doing session work, and a steady flow of corporate and private events. Phil and Matt are also booked frequently as a duo giving "unplugged" performances of the originals and covers.
